What's In a Name?
My latest obsession....what was Hoss Cartright's "real" first name? I know his REAL name was Dan Blocker. But on Bonanza, was he given the name "Hoss" at birth, or was that a nickname given to him later? I seem to recall one episode that Ben called him by his real name, but I can't remember what it was. Don't ask me why I'm obsessing about this, or what even brought it up, just give me the answer if you know it!!!!!

Does Eric Haas sound right?
I read on one website that in an episode called "A Stranger Passed This Way" the Vandervoorts named him Eric. Guess I missed that episode. So maybe they named him Eric Haas and he became "Hoss". So who were the Vandervoorts? Was he not Ben's natural son?
